1. Overview
MyWunderTale is provided by Attain AI Labs LLC, Bellevue, Washington, USA. The mobile app is designed privacy-first: your child's name, age, and profile details stay on your device. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs in the app, and we do not automatically upload crash reports. On our website (mywundertale.com), we use Google Analytics solely to understand aggregate web traffic. We receive information only when an adult voluntarily submits general feedback, error feedback, or an email. This policy explains exactly what the app and website do and do not do with data.
2. What stays on your device
MyWunderTale stores the following information locally on your device only. None of it is sent to us or any third party:
- Child profiles (names, ages, genders, phonetic pronunciations)
- Grown-up profiles (how a parent or caregiver is addressed in stories, and pronunciation choices)
- Story preferences and selected themes
- Play history, favorites, and hidden stories
- Custom pronunciation entries
- Storytime reminder schedule
- App settings and preferences
This data exists only to personalize stories for your family. We never upload, share, or back it up. On Android, the app opts out of Google's cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so moving to a new phone means setting up the family again. On iOS, app settings may be included in your own iCloud or computer backup under Apple's terms; the voice files are excluded from backup to save space. If you delete the app, this data is removed from the device.
3. Storytime reminders and notifications
If you choose to set a storytime reminder, the app asks your device for permission to show notifications. The reminder schedule is stored on your device and the reminder is shown by your device's own notification system. No reminder information is sent to us or anyone else. Reminders are optional and can be turned off in Settings or in your device's notification settings.
While a story is playing, the app also shows a playback notification with play, pause, and skip controls, as required by the operating system for background audio.
4. Battery and performance permissions
Narration is generated on your device while a story plays. On Android, the app may ask you to exclude it from battery optimization so that narration is not interrupted when the screen is off. This permission does not give the app access to any personal information, and you can decline it.
5. Default story names and no inference
If you do not enter a child profile, some stories may use default placeholder names supplied in the app's built-in story templates. These names are not selected from your device, account, contacts, photos, microphone, location, online sources, or any other personal data source. Any match between a default story name and a real person's name is coincidental.
6. Network activity in the mobile app
MyWunderTale is designed to work fully offline after one-time voice setup. The only network activity is:
- Voice setup fallback: The narration model is normally included with the app. If the included voice files are unavailable or cannot be prepared, the app may download the model from our GitHub release page. Your device's IP address is visible to GitHub as part of a standard download request. No personal information is included.
- General feedback submissions: When an adult voluntarily submits the general feedback form, the app may send the device platform, app version and build number, an internal story reference when relevant, selected ratings, optional comments, and the time the submission is received. An internal story reference identifies bundled app content; it is not a child or account identifier.
- Error feedback submissions: When an error message appears, it can be dismissed without sending anything. If an adult chooses Submit feedback and passes the parental gate, a separate form explains the optional diagnostic information before submission. The adult can include or exclude that information using a checkbox. When included, it may contain the time of the error, device platform and operating-system major version, app version and build number, the general area of the app involved, a short summary of recent high-level app actions, an internal story reference when relevant, and anonymous error category and reference values. Raw stack traces, source-code names, file paths, personalized story text, audio, pronunciation entries, and profile information are not included. The form may also contain an optional comment entered by the adult.
- Feedback storage: General and error feedback is transmitted using encryption in transit to a Google Apps Script web service and stored in a Google Sheet controlled by Attain AI Labs LLC. We do not intentionally record an IP address in the feedback sheet. As with any internet request, Google may process network information such as an IP address under Google's own privacy terms.
- Sharing the app link: If you use the share option in Settings, MyWunderTale opens your device's native share sheet with a public MyWunderTale webpage link and a short message. The app does not include child names, profiles, play history, preferences, story content, or any personal information in that shared message. The app you choose to share through may process the message according to that app's own terms and privacy policy.
Technical error records may be kept temporarily on the device to support app recovery and troubleshooting. They are not automatically uploaded. Only the sanitized information shown in the error feedback form is transmitted when an adult actively submits it with diagnostic sharing enabled.
7. Website visits & online activity
When you visit our website at mywundertale.com, the following terms apply to your web session:
- Google Analytics on the website: We use Google Analytics on our website to help us understand how visitors discover and interact with our web pages (such as page views, session duration, general device and browser information, referring URLs, and approximate country or city level location). Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (such as
_gaand_ga_*) to compile aggregate, non-personally identifiable metrics. We use this information solely to evaluate website performance and optimize user experience. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, interest-based profiling, or cross-device tracking, and website analytics data is never linked to children's profiles or app usage. - Managing and opting out of analytics cookies: You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies at any time. You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data across your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- No advertising trackers or marketing pixels: Our website does not use advertising beacons, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking).
- Standard web hosting logs: Like virtually all websites, our static web hosting and Content Delivery Network (CDN) providers may automatically process standard technical HTTP request headers (including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and the timestamp of the request) for security, server performance, and DDoS mitigation. We do not correlate server logs with individual personal profiles.
- External app store links: Our website contains links directing you to Apple's App Store and Google Play. Clicking these buttons navigates you to external platforms governed by Apple Inc.'s and Google LLC's respective terms of service and privacy policies.
- Web inquiries: If you initiate contact via the email link on our website, any information you transmit is treated in accordance with Section 10 below.
8. What we do not collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Child names, ages, genders, or any profile information
- Story text, audio content, or narration output
- Usage analytics or behavioral profiles
- Automatically uploaded crash reports or diagnostic data
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or persistent identifiers
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Raw stack traces, source-code names, local file paths, or internal implementation details in submitted reports
We have no analytics SDK, automatic crash reporting SDK, or advertising SDK integrated in the mobile app. We do not use advertising trackers or marketing ad networks anywhere on the app or website.
9. Children's privacy (COPPA compliance)
MyWunderTale is intended for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We strictly comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international child privacy standards.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. All child profile information entered in the app remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us or any external servers. Feedback forms require passing a parental gate and are intended for use only by an adult. Feedback submission is completely optional and is not required to use the app. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us at the address below and we will promptly delete it.
10. Feedback and support communications
MyWunderTale provides three ways to share feedback:
- General feedback form: Tapping the feedback button opens a form, accessible only after passing a parental gate, where an adult can rate the app, a story, narration, and name pronunciation and add an optional comment. The form submits the information described in the Network activity section above.
- Error feedback form: When an error message appears, an adult can dismiss it without sending anything or choose Submit feedback. After the parental gate, the form lists the categories of anonymous diagnostic information available to share. Diagnostic sharing is optional and enabled by default in the form; the adult can turn it off before submitting. If it is off, diagnostic fields are not transmitted. The time at which any feedback submission is received is recorded by the server.
- Email: If you contact us at info@attainAILabs.com, we may receive your email address and the content of your message. Please do not include your child's name or sensitive personal details in emails.
Optional comments are sent exactly as entered. The app does not add profile details to them, but it cannot prevent an adult from typing personal information. Please do not include names or other sensitive personal details in any feedback comment.
12. Retention
We retain submitted feedback and optional diagnostic information only for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate issues, improve MyWunderTale, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or de-identified.
13. Your choices
You can dismiss an error message without submitting information. Before submitting error feedback, you can exclude the optional diagnostic information. General feedback, error feedback, and comments are optional. You can edit or delete child and grown-up profiles at any time in Settings, and uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data. To ask about or request deletion of submitted feedback, contact us using the address below. Because we do not collect an account or persistent identifier, we may need the approximate submission time and other details to locate a particular submission.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app and website evolve. We will update the date at the top of this document when we do, and the mobile app will ask you to review and accept the updated policy before continuing. If you disagree with an updated policy, you may stop using the app and uninstall it.
